What are leadership skills? The ability to communicate “effectively” is a skill that good leaders strive to perfect. People can certainly guide or direct others without having good communication skills but those people are not usually “good” or effective leaders. Being able to communicate effectively involves good listening skills, as well as good speaking skills. While communication skills and knowledge in the field are not the only things a leader needs, they are two of the most important.
