I took the picture in the Cloister of the church around the corner. They say that there are over 1000 churches in Rome and this one, essentially just behind our Airbnb Rome is one of the oldest and most important from the days of the early church. Although we were able to see the Collesium from our apartment we were off the tourist track just out of reach of the hoards and were able to visit our neighborhood and the church without a tourist (other than us – cleverly disguised to look like locals) in sight.
