Collaboration Is The Key Element in Workplace Conflict Resolution

Every relationship has goals and objectives just like businesses do, not bottom-line and easily definable but relationship goals and objectives are just as important as the money. The same principles apply in any sort of person to person conflict resolution because conflict is an emotional reaction and whenever there are long term interdependent relationships, such as in a family owned business - virtually everything is personal. YouTube Video: How To Resolve Conflict

Probably the most overlooked element of workplace conflict resolution is simply the willingness to mediate the issues. That requires the parties to at least be willing to step back from the battle and consider the possibility of a solution that benefits the individuals themselves, their 'fans', and the organization. Needless to say this is the first step toward a workable solution and should be taken on before the people with the conflict have recruited followers to their side f=of the story. The more people who have bought in to the problem the harder it will be to solve it.
