To get people you don't know to visit your website or stop by your business you have to first connect with them. You can use all sorts of advertising to get them to come to where you are. This is like ads for cars - designed to get you to drive out to where the dealers can demonstrate their vehicles to you. Another, much more cost-effective strategy is to show up where they are - where they spend their time and do it in a way that causes them to consider what you have on offer first before you ask them to do anything.
